A very good definition of privilege.
A fact that I only learned a few years ago… :/
Today has been one of those days where people on my dash that I thought were cool and/or that I respected are posting fucking bullshit.
Current tally: one used “ghetto” as an adjective to describe something done last-minute and cheaply, another is being all “BUT BEYONCE’S WHITE CONTEMPORARIES GET JUST AS MUCH FLACK AS SHE DOES Y U PLAY THE RACE CARD”.
It’s not like I matter to them as a person or a follower, but I’m disappointed and angry. I’m not trying to be like ~give me a cookie I did the decent thing~, I’m just frustrated, and I don’t like seeing that shit anywhere, especially not my place of solitude. Racism /and/ classism and denying of racism, respectively, aren’t and shouldn’t be okay.
I commented to both of them, and then unfollowed, unfollowed, unfollowed.
